Jack McCleland & Liz Campbell

Where did you lead your first walk for Shorewalkers?

We led our first series of walks in 2007, titled End of the Lines Walk, where we joined all the ends of the subway lines. We touched all 36 subway lines over the series of five walks.

What types of walks do you enjoy leading?

We like walking in parts of the city that people don’t normally walk in and seeing the shifting of neighborhoods.  We prefer a faster pace and like to lead walks that are 14-18 miles

We live in Queens, and one of our favorite walks is the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk.

Where can we find you when you’re not leading a walk?

Liz can be found volunteering at either a food pantry or for the environment, or practicing yoga.  Jack is writing plays and performing music in his band, The Secret Handshake.

What else should we know about you?

We love to travel.  We walked the England Coast to Coast, part of the Camino, and next year we’ll walk part of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage trail in Japan.
