This will be a guided tour (with much commentary) following the shoreline of the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan (from Battery Park to the end of the High Line). We will visit the many scenic parks, public artwork and Memorials that dot this section of New York City.
We will be walking at a moderate (not slow pace). There will be no lunch stop, but there will be restroom stops. The walk will last about three hours and will cover 3 1/2 miles.
When we reach the Southern entrance to the High Line, you will have the choice of visiting the new Whitney Museum or continuing to the end of the High Line. The walk will end at 34th Street and Tenth Avenue, where you can either walk or take a bus to the Subway
Heavy rain or excessive heat will cancel the walk, check this site for updates.
Meet: 10:30 a.m. in front of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in Manhattan
