We walk over the 207th street bridge, south on Cedar Avenue to Roberto Clemente State Park. Then along the mighty Harlem River, (which is now a strait thanks to the Army Corps of Engineers- see my book: Walking Manhattan’s Rim-The Great Saunter-Leg 8.)
Then walk under three elegant bridges and climb up over 100 feet to High Bridge Park, the Bronx. Then walk west over the oldest bridge in NYC, the High Bridge to High Bridge Park, Manhattan. We touch six parks in THE HARLEM RIVER VALLEY RECREATION AREA. About 4 miles to this point. Walk can be extended. Contribution: $3 from non-Shorewalker members. More info at www.shorewalkers.org.
Meet: 11 a.m., 207th Street and 10th Avenue under the elevated #1 train, south east corner.
