Bronx River: Kensico Dam to Bronxville

About 15 miles, moderate pace, on the Bronx River Pathway from the Kensico Dam in Valhalla to Bronxville.  From Bronxville hikers can choose to take the Metro-North train back to the city or continue walking about 2 miles to the 2 train at 241st Street.

We will start by walking on top of the Kensico Dam, then head south 5 miles along the pathway to Hartsdale, then walk on suburban streets to Scarsdale, where we will pick up the pathway again and walk 4.6 miles to Bronxville.

Bring snacks, water and lunch. We will take a lunch break in Hartsdale.  The hike will parallel the Metro-North Harlem Line, so there will be drop off points to catch the train at North White Plains, White Plains, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Crestwood and Tuckahoe.

Meet: 9:30 a.m. at Grand Central Station at the Information Booth in the main lobby. We will take the 9:51 a.m. Metro-North Harlem Line train to Valhalla, $10.75 one way. the train will stop at 125th Street at 10:01 a.m. and at White Plains at 10:27 a.m., arriving at the Valhalla station at 10:34 a.m.  In case the train schedule changes, please check at Metro-North Schedules
