Roosevelt Island to Queensboro Bridge

About 7 miles and 5 hours, slow to moderate pace, along sidewalks and through parks, mostly flat. We'll take the Tram to Roosevelt Island, walk around the 4-mile perimeter and see the Four Freedoms FDR Memorial, the lighthouse and amazing views of Manhattan and Queens.   

Then we'll cross the Roosevelt Island Bridge to Astoria and stop at the Costco snack bar for a break, then visit  Socrates Sculpture Park, Rainey Park and Queensbridge Park before returning to Manhattan by walking across the Queensboro Bridge. If you don't want to walk across the bridge you can get the 7, N, Q lines at Queensboro Plaza and the E,M, R lines at Queens Plaza.

Meet 10:30 a.m. at the Roosevelt Island Tram at 59th Street and 2nd Ave. in Manhattan; take the 4,5,6 or N,Q,R to 59th Street and Lexington and walk two blocks east. Tram departs at 10:37, it accepts Metro Cards  Or, take the F train to Roosevelt Island and walk to the tram station, one block south, and meet the group outside of the tram station.
