All are welcome to join us for an interesting historical day with nice hills and stairs to climb. Highlights - Henry Hudson Park and Bridge, Inwood Hill Park in search of Indian caves and the Shorakkopoch Rock, Isham Park, for my favorite tree - a ginkgo biloba, ”selected as one of the great trees of New York City”, Milestone No. 12, a pharmacy & soda shoppe, Dyckman Farm House, Swindler Cove Park, lunch, then off to Harlem River Drive Greenway. Over the Washington Bridge (not the GWB) we go for a short walk in the Bronx on Dr. Martin L. King Blvd over the oldest bridge in NYC, High Bridge, back to Manhattan. We then take Highbridge Park to Morris-Jumel Mansion with milestone 11 and Sylvan Terrace. We continue toward Jackie Robinson Park, pass 555 Edgecomb Av., where Robeson and Ellington lived. We finish our day with a walk to Trinity Cemetery to Mayor Koch’s grave. My subway destination is at 157th and Broadway. Hope to finish before 4 pm. Bring lunch, fluids and snacks. A quick lunch will be outdoors at Swindler Cove Park
