27 mile, moderate-paced hike on paved paths and sidewalks from the Kensico Dam in Valhalla, Westchester County, to Soundview Park in the Bronx along the Bronx River.  About 14 miles in Westchester County and 13 miles in the Bronx.

The walk will take 9 to 10 hours.  After reaching Soundview Park we will walk one mile back to the 6 line along Westchester Avenue.  We hope to reach the 6 line before 7:00 p.m.

We will start by walking on top of the Kensico Dam, then head south 5 miles along the pathway to Hartsdale, then walk on suburban streets to Scarsdale, where we will pick up the pathway again and walk 4.6 miles to Bronxville.

From Bronxville, we will walk along streets again until we reach 233rd Street in the Bronx, right by Woodlwan Cemetery, then follow the Bronx River Greenway south  past the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo and through Starlight Park and Concrete Plant Park to Soundview Park.

Bring snacks, water and lunch. We will take a morning break in Hartsdale and later stop for lunch in Bronxville.  The paths are mostly flat with a few inclines.

The hike will parallel the Metro-North Harlem Line, so there will be drop off points to catch the train at North White Plains, White Plains, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Crestwood, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, Fleetwood, Mount Vernon West, Wakefield and Woodlawn.
