Bronx River Trail

Distance approximately 13 miles, timewise around 5 hrs with breaks. Brisk pace, 3+ mph. Join us on Saturday, 14 October for a walk up the Bronx River Trail from Bronxville to the Kensico Dam in Valhalla.  We'll move from the station to Lawrence Hospital for a brief bathroom break and check in. From here we wil enter the trail way and go through one of the most beautiful paths in Westchester, hopefully timing the fall foliage right. Continuing along the trail through Tuckahoe, Crestwood, Scarsdale. We'll walk on surface streets to Hartsdale, where we'll have lunch and bathroom breaks. Food is available, or BYO, I'd like to limit this to 25-30 minutes tops. From Hartsdale, we pass White Plains and North White Plains before getting to the Dam plaza. We can climb to the top of the Dam, or loop the Plaza if you'd like for interesting views. The Valhalla Station is right next door for the train back to Grand Central.
Meeting:  Take the 8:24 train from Grand Central and arrive in Bronxville at 9:04
