The Grand Harlem River Park Project
Initiated by Shorewalkers, the
Grand Harlem River Park
is a project which strings together abandoned industrial land, a few railroads and
city-owned parcels along with recreational property including Inwood Hill, Highbridge,
Roberto Clemente, Harlem Beach, Regatta and other strips, as well as Yankee Stadium.
Strung together, this mix of public and private could become a world-class park
covering more than 800-acres---larger than Central Park if one includes the 250-acres of
the 6-mile long waterway between the Bronx and Manhattan.
